Shutterpin · Move to a new phone in four steps
Why this matters
Your camera accepts location from one phone at a time. Until the old pairing is removed on the camera, the new phone can connect but the camera will silently reject its location updates.
Steps
- 1. Back up your tracks (optional). Track logs live only on the phone — use Settings → Export GPX on the old phone if you want to keep them.
- 2. Remove the old pairing on the camera. MENU → Network → Bluetooth → Pairing (or Reset Network Settings on older bodies). Also delete the camera from the old phone's Bluetooth settings if listed.
- 3. Restore on the new phone. Install Shutterpin and open it. On iPhone there is nothing to sign into — use Settings → Account → Restore purchases. On Android, sign in with the same Google account as before. Your plan follows your store account (Apple ID or Google account), not the device, so it comes back on any phone that uses the same store. Moving between iPhone and Android is not supported: a purchase made in the App Store cannot be transferred to Google Play, or the reverse.
- 4. Pair inside the app. Open Shutterpin on the new phone and pair from the app (not from the phone's Bluetooth settings), with the camera's smartphone-connection screen open.
What does not transfer
Track logs and session history are stored only on the device (your location never leaves your phone — by design). Export GPX before wiping the old phone if you need them.
